Sanken Nete (the “White Star”) is a traditional Shipibo plant-medicine healing center located in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest that offers full Ayahuasca retreats in the traditional Shipibo way. We are committed to offering a powerful and healing experience, a full immersion in the ancient Shipibo wisdom and a transformative journey of self-discovery and deep healing.

The Shipibo Way
Sanken Nete is rooted in the ancient Shipibo tradition and knowledge of plant medicine. The center was founded by Shipibo Healers and Maestra Elisa Vargas Fernandez. The center is managed by Elisa and her family and is a vital part of the local Shipibo community. While our retreats are centered around Ayahuasca ceremonies, we believe in a holistic approach that includes preparation to the experience, introduction to the various medicinal and sacred plants, the practice of “dieta” (“diet”,) and a path to integration of the messages and the insights received into the everyday life.
Our goal is to help re-awake our true nature and focus our minds and souls on our true purpose.
A POWERFUL AND TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE
At Sanken Nete we are committed to providing a safe space, compassionate guidance and a personalized approach for each participant to make sure that they feel supported and protected during the journey.
An experience with Mother Ayahuasca can be a powerful journey of inner discovery and spiritual transformation. Elisa and her family of Curanderos have worked with Mother Ayahuasca and other medicinal plants for more than 40 years. Icaros play an important part in the healing journey; Elisa and her family of Curandero put particular attention and energy in crafting the Icaros that will guide the participants through the other plans.
We want each participant to go back with a renewed body and soul, and able to integrate the experience and the insights into their everyday lives.
MORE THAN JUST RETREATS: COMMUNITY AND EXCHANGE
We are much more than just a healing center. Sanken Nete is a vital part of the local Shipibo community and serves as center social, educational, visionary arts laboratory and medical center.
We encourage our guest to fully immerse in the Shipibo culture and traditions, and we provide formal and informal moment cultural exchanges. Our staff is always available to guide the guests and provide details on the practices performed at the center.
The center is a for-purpose, not-for-profit organization that devotes all profit to the preservation and the of the center and supports grassroots sustainable projects which bring positive change to the whole community.
